Last week I posted a walk through covering the process of installing a solid state drive (SSD) into a Macbook Pro. If you missed that post check it out along with this video.
I’ll admit that a week on I am still fascinated by the speed increase that this upgrade provides. Lots of people around the net talk of boot times, “my mac boots in 8 seconds” etc.. which is fine but I thought there’s nothing like seeing it to believe it.
So in this short video, watch as I start Safari, Pages and then Photoshop. If you use any of these programs on your machine you’ll know how long it takes for them to startup. To prove I’m not cheating watch the second hand on the clock in the background – the video is playing at normal speed.
