Well after about a week with the new iPhone 4S everything about it is cool but for one thing – the battery life. For the first few days I just put it down to the fact that I was playing with it, a lot. Then for the last two nights it has packed up in the middle of the night.
Absolutely dead.
The first night I just thought it was Siri being mad at me, perhaps I changed my mind too many times when asking her to set the alarm but then it happened the next night as well (I was much more succinct in choosing my alarm time!).
Both nights there was about 20-25% battery left but not enough to get it though the night.
I’m not alone it appears, there are several threads cropping up on discussion forums about the iPhone 4S. Lots of users having the same problem. Checking the Apple web site for specs on the phone I noticed that they have even rated the battery as being just 2/3 the standby time of the previous iPhone 4 model.
The graphic below is from the Apple site, the iPhone 4S on the left and the older iPhone 4 on the right.

So it looks like we’re destined to hooking our shining new iPhone 4S to a life support system each night, otherwise, no wake up call from Siri.
What’s your experience, leave a comment here if you have the same issue or if you’re able to get significantly more battery life out of your iPhone 4S
