Not all iPhones are equal when it comes to iOS 5

in iPhone

iOS 5 is out today and mostly people are loving it, a few mumblings on twitter about it not installing first time etc.. but I think mostly once you have your Mac up to date the install works pretty well.

There will be some disappointments though, firstly Siri the new voice engine is only iPhone 4S but there are other things that are not supported across all iPhones. Ok we did know that one but located based reminders are not available on an iPhone 3Gs, not sure why but that’s the case.

If you don’t have at least an iPhone 3Gs you won’t be able to install iOS 5 at all, there is however a chart on the Apple support site that shows which features are available on which phones.

View the chart here.
